Programme Overview

The course aims to provide students with an understanding of the managerial, decision-making and leadership aspects of the tourism industry. Managerial competencies are developed in Tourism Operations Management, Sustainable Tourism and Destination Development, Customer Relationship Management, Marketing, Human Resources and Finance. In addition, it is also designed to develop independent research and study skills required when working at senior managerial level in the industry. It is therefore an excellent preparation for entry to the workplace.

Full time students spent 50% of the course duration in industry to gain relevant work experience suitable for immediate employment upon completion of the course with the necessary theoretical underpinnings to progress into managerial positions. The Level 5 Advanced Programme allows for further career progression opportunities such as travel agency manager, tour operations manager, tour guide manager, sales manager, and many more.

The Level 5 Advanced Programme is also a springboard into a second or final year bachelors degree at a selected international universities abroad for those students who aspire to pursue degree studies oversees. Alternatively, students may elect to progress to the Level 6 Pro-Graduate Programme.

Entrance Requirements

  • Grade 12,
  • You may apply for provisional registration based on Grade 11 results,
  • You must be able to speak, read and write English
  • You must have access to a PC for studies at home or a laptop for studies at the campus.

  • 36 months full time (18 months theory and 18 months industry experiential learning) starting February and July

Year 2:

  • CTH Level 5 Advanced Diploma in Tourism Management (QAN 601/7135/2) (UK Based Qualification)
